OEM is an abbreviation of 'Original Equipment Manufacturer' - in other words a cartridge from the printer manufacturer - like Epson, Hewlett-Packard or Canon. Compatible cartridges are brand new cartridges made by another company to meet (or exceed) the specifications and quality standards that you would find in the OEM product. You install our cartridge in exactly the same way as OEM cartridges. They are individually wrapped in foil and have a tab that you remove just like the OEM version. We do recommend that you use head cleaning or nozzle cleaning utility that is installed in every printer every time you replace a cartridge - OEM or compatible/re-manufactured.
